Leonard R. Anderson is a founding member of Barlow Anderson, LLC. With more than 25 years of legal experience, he assists individuals and families with a wide range of legal matters. Leonard is known for providing practical legal guidance, responsive communication, and timely attention to his clients’ concerns.

Leonard earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University in 1991 and received his Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1994. He is a member of the Anchorage and Alaska Bar Associations and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Alaska, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Tax Court.

Throughout his career, Leonard has taken an active role in Alaska’s legal community. He previously served as President of the Anchorage Bar Association and continues to serve on its Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Alaska Probate Rules Committee and participates in the Estate Planning, Probate, and Elder Law Sections of the Alaska Bar Association. In addition, Leonard has presented educational seminars and spoken to community groups on estate planning, probate administration, and related legal topics. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Special Needs Alliance, a national organization focused on planning for individuals with disabilities and their families.

Outside of his legal practice, Leonard enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife, Lale, have eight children, all raised in Alaska. Originally from Southern California, Leonard moved to Alaska after meeting his wife during college. He quickly developed an appreciation for Alaska’s long summer days, outdoor lifestyle, and salmon fishing traditions.
