He then obtained his law degree from the South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas. Upon graduating with his Juris Doctor Degree, he began his practice in personal injury trial law with Simmons and Fletcher, P.C. He remains practicing at this law firm and continues to advance his expertise. Since beginning his practice, Cannon has earned the Board Certification in Personal Injury Trial Law in 2005, Top Lawyer in the Texas Magazine in 2020, Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters for the fifth consecutive year in 2021, and Top 100 Trial Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers Association in 2020, and 2021. He is currently involved with the Houston Trial Lawyers Association, Christian Trial Lawyers Association, Houston Northwest Bar Association, and South Texas College of Law Alumni Association and was formerly involved with the National Association of Distinguished Counsel.
